Ah- my son’s public school is guarded by two armed police officers- and our local government passed a law that teachers and parents are allowed to have guns in a lock box, on school grounds.
Obama can sit and spin.

Anne Frank’s family was in an Apartment. The entrance was extremely small. A person had to stoop to enter. The small squad of one Nazi cop and a few Dutch cops, could have been wiped out with one carefully thought out ambush using one 30 round mag.
With a single AR or AK, it would have been completely possible to have killed them all. Even a Remington 870 could have done fine. The family could have left and vanished out a backdoor. Very possible they could have got away.
And if they didn’t, such goings on would have meant that the Nazi police force in Amsterdam would have had to do such investigations much more tactically, with more officers, and with better weapons. This would have taxed the murder machine further. Any participant in such a murder enterprise that is targeted slows the bureacracy, the more, and the more scattered through the machinery, the better.
Anne’s family needed an AK.

We are living in a time in which emotions are elevated above reason. Making rational arguments are a thing for past generations. This whole issue of gun control is based upon the emotions surrounding the killing of school children. The fact that all the gun laws in the world wouldn’t have prevented this slaughter is dismissed. You can’t reason with people that refuse to use reason.
I wish I could turn off my spigot again but I welded the thing shut after John McCain.

Guarding school children from harm—what I’m sure the `Party of the People’ considers to be the brats of the great unwashed masses—while their own precious issue have real futures with made-up jobs as television freaks, duh!—is the goal.
“Putting more guns in schools” (and that’s nice way to put it, hmm?) is just one of many possible solutions.
But it appears to makes the most sense over many proposals, particularly in that Obama and other Democrats haven’t objected to their own children’s safety secured due to putting guns in schools.
Of course, because it appears to the average guy be a reasonable proposal it stands in the way of their gun confiscation agenda: `There’s a crisis here and time’s a wastin’!
Gee, he’s “skeptical”. Why can’t we just ban guns, criminalize and thereby prevent 300 million Americans from legally owning firearms—in derogation of the 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution?
And if we don’t agree with them, then you know the drill: We masses/proles must be too damned stupid to understand that it’s for our own good, or, “You know what? Maybe I didn’t explain everything adequately or misspoke myself or ... “ blah blah blah blah blah blah

There is no generally accepted objective definition of "assault weapons" - it is a made up term. (as opposed to "assault rifles" which are specifically defined and are already illegal to own for the majority of Americans.) Thus, Obama just wants to ban as many guns as possible by arbitrarily labeling them as "assault weapons".
The solution is to paint them all pink.
