Rush made a large point about this recently. Congresscritters have gotten way, way to uppity. They are there only because of our vote. They are there to serve us.
What does it say when our government, which was founded on the principle - as Abraham Lincoln reaffirmed - of being one of, by, and for the people, is peopled with such as Dianne Feinstein, who is so afraid of those who pay for her (very expensive) upkeep and who seems to have forgotten who serves whom and according to what principles? I am afraid that she (and others like her) has lived a life of power and privilege for so long that she actually thinks she is different than mere citizens.
Arrogance seems to be the most valued attribute among the D.C. elite. In fact, if you compared all actor/singer/celebrity types, all media types, and all professional political types, it would be difficult to determine which group is more steeped in arrogance and self-importance.
And these are the leaders and trend-setters of our society. No wonder that the nation as a whole is so badly off.
