I’d argue there’s more to their ‘core-beliefs’ (smaller govt, anti-worldpolice, etc.) that are more inline w/ the Conservatives than the current GOP camp (since they can’t even seem to follow their own platform).
I’ve debated that these fundamental policies should be the base of a united NEW party that could bring all like-minded people together to restore our Rights and Freedom; there’s no need to reinvent the Constitution when it is what we should be be getting back to....THEN take on one difference at a time to work out (IE: gay marriage, not in gov’t purview, leave it to the religious institutions, but nothing wrong w/ civil unions [say, outside of adoption]).
Here we are battling over billions of $$ per year, when the real argument should be what right does gov’t have to do ABC (9th & 10th), en-debt every Citizen for $XYZ (13th), etc. I believe breaking it down to the fundamentals will energize and bring all the camps together to fight the 2 party cartel.
I think you’re on the right track. One thing that should unite Conservatives, Paleocons, and Liberaltarians would be the defeat of the Marxist Left by a healthy margin. If there’s one thing we can all agree on is they must be defeated, assuming it isn’t too late, that is.
Hey, but in the meanwhile....
Happy New Year, FRiend!
