This has little chance of passing, but would be a nightmare if it did. It would certainly make more criminals, which may be the real intent.
“This has little chance of passing...”
Agreed.
It won’t get past the Senate (45R to 55D), let alone the House.
What it IS, is the first salvo to drum up public interest.
However, the machinations over the ‘fiscal cliff’ and resultant outcome (majority of middle class families will be $200-400+ poorer each month), will push this issue to the back-burner.
This a standard Dem ploy. Demand everything and “compromise” on half of what they demand. Then come back for the rest later.
It will not pass as proposed. However, there will be compromise, 50% or more of the new laws will be enacted, and everyone in congress will feel good.
Nightmare is correct. Many sheeple will comply and those that hold out will be criminals, subject to arrest and prosecution..
I certainly believe congress should go back and review exactly what policies led up to the confrontations at Lexington & Concord.
