He probably works for the NRA and is working on a secret deal to support this bill.

Haha. Could be. He strikes me as incredibly intellectually insecure and lashes out at anyone who dares to question the “brilliance” of his wisdom.
At any rate, thanks for the thread.

He probably works for the NRA This NRA?
Privately, some Republicans urged the NRA to disown its now infamous fund-raising letter, which called U.S. agents "jackbooted thugs" in "Nazi bucket helmets." Such alarmism had long since become obnoxious to another prominent NRA member: retired Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf. The gulf-war hero disclosed to NEWSWEEK last week that he had quit the NRA a few years ago. They are "very inflexible and almost radical," he said. "They appeal to a fringe element of gun owners."

I expect to see a high capacity ban in effect by the end of Jan. at the latest. Just the expectation of this ban is having a huge impact in my neck of the woods. Similar to a bank run, our area is having a high capacity mag run (and ammo as well). You cannot find a 20 or 30 round mag in .22, .223, any of the 7.62s, or .308. Same for all pistol mags. The main problem with this is that if you dont already have your mags, you probably won't be able to get them. They know that the ban is coming and they aren't going to invest millions in producing new mags that will soon be illegal. I don't know if others are seeing this in other parts of the country, but I would assume they are. My advice is: beg, borrow or steal, but get those mags ASAP. The window is almost closed.

Certain television celebrities who posed as conservatives and lost in primaries are no longer influencing the NRA. As for LaPierre, he's not like those fake conservatives.
From
Wikipedia:
In the wake of the the Oklahoma City bombing, LaPierre wrote a fundraising letter describing federal agents as "jack-booted government thugs" who wear "Nazi bucket helmets and black storm trooper uniforms." Former president George H. W. Bush was so outraged by the letter that he resigned his NRA Life membership.[2]
