I'd say they don't care, as long as they get their payouts. It isn't hard to see why we lost this time. College kids that went into debt for useless liberal arts degrees wanted their loans forgiven. Most women wanted their free birth control and abortions. Many unions wanted their man in power to keep running interference for them. Homos wanted their lifestyles legitimized and their various health issues paid for. This is a partial list that doesn't come close to covering everyone who wanted their government perks.
We blame Romney for this loss, but I don't think even Reagan could have won in 2012. In 1980, most Americans wanted to be put back to work. In 2012, most wanted their freebies. As long as the freebies keep coming, they will be happy. And as long as the government can keep borrowing and printing money, the freebies will keep coming.

I worry about the country my kids will inherit. So many people haven't the first clue how the country should run, and what it's like to have a real president. The 20 somethings grew up under Clinton , who always had scandals swirling about him, but he managed to get away with it, so he was cool. Then G W Bush. The media pounded him mercilessly. He was basically trying to do the right thing, but he was made out to be a doofus for 8 years by the same media. Now we have what conservatives know is the Emperor with no clothes in the WH, but the media is so in the tank he's seen as a rock star. Really, what kind of a national leader gives "shout outs" right before telling the nation about a massacre at a military base by a jihadist? Check the youtube if it's still up. What kind of a president turns a Senator and a war hero's eulogy into a travelogue of his family's trip to Disneyland when he was 4 years old. Really???
This country is truly circling the drain and I don't see a way to stop it.
