SEATTLE - The U.S. Army said Wednesday it will seek the death penalty against the soldier accused of killing 16 Afghan villagers in a predawn rampage in March.
The attack drew such angry protests that the U.S. temporarily halted combat operations in Afghanistan.

Think Staff Sgt Bales did 4 back to back tours and had part of his foot shot off and a concussion. Need to refresh myself on the details.
IF he gets the death penalty it will be the first soldier in many years...absolutely heart wrenching case.
Is the Army seeking the death penalty for that act of work place violence that took place on U.S. soil?

Yes, the Army is seeking death against Hassan for the Ft Hood massacre. Bales snuck off post and killed nine little children in cold blood. There’s no excuse.

They’ll seek the death penalty for Bales, but they won’t even force Hassan to shave his beard.
Bales did 4 back to back tours..they were around 12 month tours. He was told he would NOT have to go on the last tour but they changed their mind at the last minute and sent him. He had part of his foot blown off and I believe a brain injury BEFORE they sent him over again.
His atty wept during the first interview...I cannot help it but I am just sick over this.

I never implied there was an excuse, and not being a psychologist or psychiatrist I would not even attempt to try, my question was simply as to wether the same standard was being applied to Obama’s muslim brother. Try not to read extra into the words.
Not the first..look at AF SGT Witt. He killed two and injured one. Now sitting on death row.
IF he is executed..he will be the first since the 60’s.

I’m happy to see him executed, but there are thousands and thousands of other who should be executed sooner.
Well, maybe on his last day on earth, his beard will be found hindering the execution & will have to be shaven clean before he meets the Virginians. Also that his mouth be taped so as not to interfere with any final proclamations to the process? A good example for watching Moslems?

There is more to this story. Where are his boss’? There is no way an E-3 could have done this himself. Something stinks with this story....
Treason and "workplace violence" are different. Obama is on their side, so those criminals will not get what they deserve. As for the soldier who murdered children, even if he was not mentally stable (almost certainly true), he should never again walk free.
