I know it’s popular to beat up on Boehner around here....and I too do not like any of the deals he’s trying to make. However, that all said....I think he is trying to preserve as much of the GWB tax rates as he possibly can and achieve at least some degree of spending restraint.

He has a VERY TOUGH hand to play. The fact that the GWB tax rates were set up to expire within ten years gives him a nearly impossible hand to play. It doesn’t help that BHO was re-elected and that the Dems increased their numbers in both houses of congress.

ANY voter who votes Democrat is voting for higher taxes, more spending, and bigger deficits and bigger government. This is what the voters want, this what they’re going to get. There is little Boehner can do to stop it.

Well, spoken. And remember, all of the "Principled Conservatives" who didn't vote in November to "Send a Strong Message to the GOP!" and handed the Senate and White Hut to Obama and his Pet RATS.

Now, they are lined up to bitchslap the Pubbies in the House.

Typical!

Well, the real problem was that in 2010, the tax cuts were only extended for two years to 2012, instead of being made permanent in 2005. And who do we have to thank for that? A REPUBLICAN!

Voinovich opposes Bush effort to make tax cuts permanent

Even when we win at the voting booth, we lose due to "Republicans".

It was also interesting to review some of the debate that occurred in 2010 and some of the votes that were taken:

Tax cut extensions fall short in Senate

(Democrat) House passes bill to extend Bush-era tax cuts to middle class
