I’ve read Animal Farm and found it to be a great read and I also liked his Catalonian book even if it showed George Orwell’s Socialist thoughts, it also did show how he evolved from a naive Socialist in support of anybody going against Franco to an individual who smelled a bigger threat in Josef Stalin. Orwell’s thoughts on the spread of information would come from the endless hagiographies spread about Stalin, and he was surprised when he learned that writing an Anti-Stalin book would be rejected. It is painful to believe that we have had people in powerful circles who actually defended and protected a mass murderer like him.

Huxley’s quote is interesting. We do have an infinite appetite for distractions and are lured into such by a media who seeks to represent all of our interests. That is why we have stories about certain celebrities and certain interests. If an entertainment figure is not relevant anymore than we push that person aside. Game designers and computer programmers who have become successful are marginalized, you know I don’t watch the news anymore, because of my earlier complaints. I haven’t for a while. I would possibly watch FOX News but I can find all the info I need on this site.

People are so easy to be hoodwinked and bribed. They are so easy to be corrupted. How does it feel to know that most single women voted for the status quo at my retail job and I am single myself. How do I feel to know that most of my generation wants more regulations in the world of healthcare? Much of my generation watches an avowed Leftist known as Jon Stewart because he is cool, hip and funny and they end up walking his walk.

And if somebody bribes us to vote for them, we don’t care. We have no dignity anymore, just keep that gravy train rolling. Higher taxes don’t matter because they won’t hit us but they’ll just hit the selfish rich guy with his yacht. Life is free so let’s pop out as many babies as possible with no concerns or regrets. While we’re at it let’s laugh with Jon Stewart as we eventually have “made in China” stamped on our country. Let’s not confront a professor, though I can blame myself, who brainwashes his students into Socialist indoctrination to become part of his activist army. As long as we can throw fetuses into dumpsters and have protected sex than it doesn’t matter if I have no healthcare because there are no fulltime jobs anymore.

You are very wise about a great many things, my friend, and I have learned a new word (hagiographies). I have fallen into that trap of many distractions. That’s why Huxley’s quote leapt out at me. The MSM is hell-bent on over-doing the reports on this tragedy, with a focus on lurid or nonsensical details; the net effect is to overload the public and to distract us from what is really important. Truth is being buried by this avalanche. Libs are being redirected to attack Constitutional rights, and they can’t even see what they are doing to the detriment of all of us. (I’ll let you have the last word, I enjoy what you say.)
