That is because you are smarter than many of today’s “journalists” even with just two paragraphs. What the media does is it puts us in a tragic shell, making reality look cruel and barren. I blame them for my current depressive state of mind and also for putting a bigger spotlight on the killers than on the heroes who stood up and stopped a killing from even happening.

I hardly play any FPS games, as I get very sensitive about playing games like that, but I’ve never heard of one of them involving killing innocents to proceed through a game. I’ve also never played Dynasty Warriors but I will hypothesize that neither has anyone in the media who is reporting on stuff like this. People play video games to escape from real life and to do things they wouldn’t normally do and they usually play as heroes sent to rescue people from evil.

I remember the Columbine massacre from 1999, which this is feeling exactly like except with the added hurt angle of autism which I have. After the shootings happened, people like Joe Lieberman and others assigned blame to Doom for the murderous rampage there. Back then I was posting on two forums devoted to the RPG genre but I would get extremely angry when I would hear all of them blame a video game for something like that. You don’t shoot humans in Doom, you shoot aliens.

This is long I know but people are still buying Far Cry 3 and Mass Effect at the Best Buy that I work at. I think that there may be enough people, especially with the popularity of M-rated games, that this frenzy may just be futile as the frenzy over guns.

I hate the media today. In my youth, I read "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. He painted a portrait of a future world some 600 years from now, of instant news, goods and resources are plentiful, children are brainwashed in their education, citizens are conditioned to value consumption, and people enjoy drugs and recreational sex. A "savage" born outside this society is brought into the mix and doesn't like the environment he's thrust into, with the media badgering and following his every move.

Huxley wrote and published this in the early 1930's. But that society of 600 years from now appears oddly like our own. The MSM is berserk and destroying civility.
