Told me her name was which was one name and after she removed herself from the call, her mom told me her real name was something else and that was just one personality she had adopted recently. Mom's tried to get her committed, but can't because the daughter is adult age and has to commit herself.
She is living in the general population, is a severe drug addict according to mom and is going to hurt/kill someone or herself before too long and the police department where she lives, although notified, can do nothing about it. Welcome to the United States of Stupid America.
Have a sister who I went through similar to that woman in 1987 (minus drug addiction). Couldn’t commit her because she was an adult, police could do NOTHING until she actually DID hurt someone (threats were there)....removed her from my Mom’s house....it was NOT fun....she went on to have 2 babies, who are now functioning adults....so far ok....but, I still keep my distance....
Do you think liberalism has given her the right to be crazy on the street?
How many times have you heard of murderers killing because they were off their meds. You can not force them to take meds. You can't save your family from the mental health bureaucrats or activists who think it all looks great on paper but ignore the families who know the terror of living with the mentally ill on a daily basis.
My heart goes out to the Mother in your post. She has nowhere to turn.
I just got through watching the original THE CABINET OF DR CALGARI. I can’t tell how it ends w/o a spoiler alert.
It starts with a young man in an asylum telling his story to another.
Thanks for the inspiration for a new tag!

You can thank the ACLU loudly and often. They sued in the 70’s to close the mental institutions, where such crazies could be housed and kept out of polite society.
They also the got laws about treatment changed, so that only the person who has the problem is the person who can commit themselves.
My mom was a stone alcoholic. She would never admit she had a drinking problem. No drunk I have ever encountered would admit such. She managed to drink herself to death before she turned 58.
All I could state when told was “The Monkey’s Off My Back”.
