Mayor Rahm Emanuel is looking for current gun laws to change.
"There is no parent and no grandparent in America that is not a resident to Sandy Hook, Conn.," Emanuel said Saturday afternoon while attending a ceremony for a new police building in District 12. "There is nobody that had their child last night, that didn't hold them a little closer, pull them in a little tighter, didn't hug them a little more.
Emanuel stressed a need for gun laws to assure an event like the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School does not happen in Chicago. The mayor is just one of many politicians in Illinois pushing for gun legislation pertaining to concealed carry of weapons.
The Newtown school shootings occurred the same week the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned Illinois' ban on concealed carry weapons.
Lawmakers have 180 days to come up with a law legalizing the concealed carry of weapons.
Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy agrees with Emanuel's sense of urgency. Chicago's top cop suggested the nation needs a better firearm tracking system.
"A national recognition that there has to be some sort of tracking, not even gun control accountability for gun owners," he said on Saturday. "It doesn't mean you can't have your gun, but there's a requirement to report the lost, theft, or transfer of a firearm."
McCarthy explained most guns in Chicago are legally purchased, but illegally transferred into the city.
Emanuel will speak out again Saturday night during a vigil honoring the victims killed in Newtown, Conn., with Father Michael Pfleger.
228 as of June 15, 2012 were killed in Chicago. 456 should be the number at the end of the year.

It would be quicker to just report tht the Dem Party wants to end second amendment and self defense. The Brit liberals love watching criminals preying upon helpless victims. Especially the Muslims who are rapping the infidels’ children without consequence.
Someone needs to go on a show with this clown and say:
We all know your political agenda, Rahm. Aren’t you the one who said “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” Is this just another serious crisis for you because it’s ripping the hearts out of Americans all across this country.
Then the person on the show with Rahm needs to look him right in the eye:
My question to you Mr. Mayor is what will you do right now to keep the kids in your schools safe? Have you looked into any additional safety measures to protect them or have you just been out making the most out of this crisis?
Aren’t guns pretty much banned in Chicago? What more does he want to do?

One begins to wonder if the fascists in our gov’t - who know the first step in taking over a country is the necessity of stripping citizens of their guns - didn't go to the drug companies and make a deal to develop these drugs - for this purpose. The fact that these gun-controllers, from the president on down, were loud and clear in demanding gun-control, using this tragedy for their agenda, while those little bodies were still in that school speaks volumes!
Yes, such evil exists. It operates on such high levels because decent people can't conceive of such raw evil.
We need to acknowledge it.
We need to let our politicians and media KNOW we know - and know THEY know - and demand they answer us individually.

Is his Mom in trouble now because she did not report the theft of her guns?

Why don’t YOU show the way, McCarthy? Disarm all your officers, and carry only night sticks.
And when are you going to disarm all the gang-bangers on the South Side of Chi town?
Maybe the government could enact a War on Guns program. Model it after the very successful War on Drugs effort.....

In Australia you could have your gun so long as it was registered. Then they went door to door and collected them all. I’d say that’s what he wants.
