It’s likely the guns were community property at stake in the divorce.

If so, the divorce might have been messy, as lawyers know men are HIGHLY emotional about guns.

The wife getting something so personal and male suggests to me that her lawyer was very aggressive about, “sticking it to him”.

The guns were in her name so she probably bought them herself. Some women can buy guns without help from men.
