Who determines what crazy is?
Who enforces the rule that crazy people don’t have guns?
Does the federal government have crazy people in it?

I agree. But we have to work this out. I don’t want to lose my guns because the VAST majority of gun massacres are done by crazies.
We had friends who had a bipolar son of college age. They made the mistake of allowing him access to their hunting guns and he eventually killed himself. Some people just aren’t convinced that their “crazy” kids on meds aren’t a threat to themselves and others.
What we have here is a mental public health issue, not a guns are evil issue. I don’t know what law you can write to change it, since it gets down to personal responsibility.
There is nothing that will stop this. Connecticut is already very gun controlling.
But it will provide an excuse for the grabbers to come after our guns. I'm sure they appreciate your support.

If it comes down to defining crazy or me and 10s of millions of responsible people losing their right to gun ownership ... then I’m going to define crazy. So be it.
There were always wars, 12/20. Always. Back to Babylon, there were wars and massacres and atrocities committed on the battlefield by men under arms, or bandit gangs.
But kids didn’t walk into kindergartens, solo, and blast 20 small children. That is 100% new.
Ultra-violent and ultra-expliscit movies and video games are new in the human condition, and they desensitize children. First person shooter video games they are a trigger for folks already close to the edge, and I can prove it.
Extensive military studies showed that less than 10% of WW1 soldiers ever aimed and fired directly at enemy soldiers, even in bitter trench warfare across no-man’s-land. The stats were little better in WW2. Why? The first person “kill image” was never in a person’s head to begin with, before ultra violent movies and video games put them there.
Rifle training before combat was almost all at distant round bullseye match targets. Most people had “thou shalt not kill” deeply ingrained in their minds, and round targets on a range did not transfer to killing actual live humans in combat.
By the 1960s, modern military psychologists understood this “problem,” and they changed rifle training to pop-up reactive targets that looked like actual enemies. I remember shooting Viet Cong popup targets with rice paddy hats carrying AKs. The targets were visible for only seconds, so you had to shoot the humanoid target fast to make your quals and pass.
In Viet Nam, the percentage of actualyoung American troops WW1, WW2 and Korea. This fact is beyond dispute. The “first person” fast-reaction humanoid popup target training is mainly the reason why.
Then we got the first-person POV combat video games, and kids today are rewired from an early age to visualize and actually enjoy rapidly shooting human-looking “enemies” in front of them.
Combine this neural rewiring (from a baseline of “thou shalt not kill” in 1910, to “kill them fast!” in 2012) and the potential psychos among us now know exactly what to do when they lose control of their rage. Get a gun, be the shooter, and achieve instant fame and immortality via the MSM’s celebrity and fame machine.
Here's a little background for anyone willing to do their homework.
Do you know anyone who works in a a busy ER? I mean the kind that draws patients from a wide area.
Ask them how mental illness and drug abuse are impacting the mission to take care of acute onset patients.
Did you know that many ERs, more and more, actually have *boarding* facilities for the violently mentally ill...right next to you who have come in to get your daughter's ear infection treated.
A madhouse in your ER.

He coolly asks for a check for Christmas, so he can buy a better device with which to tune out the real world. And no, his family doesn’t observe any faith. They’re proud, secular, humanists. Probably a lot like Adam Lanza’s parents. These kids are out there, and damn easy to spot.
Right? Seems like in the Soviet Union a crazy diagnoses was made if you questioned the length of the bread line.
We hope we can keep our guns. They’re going to have to come after me one on one.
But sometime there is going to be a tipping point and gun ownership will be debated.
I’m willing to give concessions to try to keep crazy people from getting them and/or securing your guns so crazies can’t get them.

Yeah, and when I see a rattlesnake in the yard (quite a common event) or someone forces his way into my house, I'll just ask them to please be so kind as to wait while I go get my gun ready!!
Seriously, when my children were young, it wasn't hard to keep the guns in a rack, out of reach. But, by the time they were able to reach for them, not only they knew better but "securing" them would have rendered them useless. The only exception to this rule was when they had friends over, to play. Then, and only then, the guns were locked in the closet, and my bedroom door closed. Visitors were made aware that my room was out of bounds when playing.

Yeah, I understand that and I think I’ve made it abundantly clear on my many posts on this thread.
I am willing to admit that not everyone should have a gun ... because they’re crazy. Because 99.999% of gun owners are sane and responsible.
I suppose you think 100)% are responsible gun owners.
