You don’t think the government should require parental support rather than simply supporting kids with no obligation from the parents?
Ideally the government shouldn’t be involved whatsoever—they only make a mess of things. I say this as a one time single mom who happened to raise two children to productive adulthood without alienating them from dad and pitying them (which is what Obama suffers from—he was pitied as a child instead of being given expectations)
It should be 50/50 custody with each parent providing for the child when at his/her house. No child support changing hands. The feds pay a “kickback” to the CSEUs with the highest number of CS awards. This is plain wrong.
