Absolutely.

What about private institutions? Haven’t they existed, and wouldn’t republicans be OK with that?

Likewise orphanages. Didn’t they have private versions? Yet all were declared cruel and I guess hence we have this foster system where kids bounce around yet aren’t actually adopted. Wouldn’t it be easier to see many kids at once and decide if you want to adopt one?

Sorry, off on tangent about ALL institutions!

Once these people are adults,the system protects them from being institutionalized at all. Even when they are a clear danger to themselves and others..about the most you can get them in for is 30 days. Then they are released on medication and declared ‘cured’. If they try to keep them, these liberal lawyers swoop in and sue the institutions and get the nutters released.
