New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) said concerns that his weight would prevent him from serving as president were ridiculous in an interview set to air Wednesday.
In an interview for Barbara Walterss 10 Most Fascinating People series, the broadcast veteran asked the New Jersey governor how he would respond to people who say that you couldnt be president because you're so heavy.
Thats ridiculous, I mean, thats ridiculous, Christie responded. I mean, I dont know what the basis for that is.

If a reporter asked an overweight woman [D] politician, they would have been called sexist ... and worse.
But he will never win.
But then, maybe the obese vote could bring him in, between the morbidly rotund, the fatcats, and America's well-fed poor...maybe he could get a coalition together.
Me, I just refuse to vote for liberals, no matter what brand they ride for.
No matter what he says the general public won’t elect a fat cat politician.
Just play the newscasts of him kissing Obama’s butt after Sandy, that should kill his chances.
His liberal RINOism prevents him.
There are many other reasons that Christie should never be made President!
The fact that he's morbidly obese at least offers us the hope that he'll never win the Republican nomination. (The Democrat nomination is another question -- since fat, stupid people are one of the 'rat core constituencies.)
Hey, I think his weight is a plus. In fact if he’d win with Palin as VP, I’d send him a dozen of his favorite donuts daily.
Two laps around Christi may become an olympic event in the next summer olympics.
President? This guy is going to have a hell of a time winning the governorship race later this year. My guess is Booker, the Newark Mayor, will be his opponent.
Interestingly, despite his photo op with the POS, the two NJ counties hit hardest by the storm- Monmouth and Ocean- went solid red. As did Staten Island.
There’s a reason they refer to his type of condition as morbidly obese.
Umm, I think Christie blew his chances with his slobbering suck-up performance with Obama. We Conservatives might have held our noses and pulled the lever for him before that totally embarrassing event. But, not now, never happen.
William Howard Taft served as President and also nine years as Chief Justice of The Supreme Court of The United States.
I actually saw his wife on TV yesterday, doing a PSA for their preferred charity for Sandy victims. She’s not too bad.
The weight of liberal Rino ideology will prove to be to much however.
Only skinny ones!!
Interesting. So it appears that Christie was not sucked into the vortex of the liberal black hole. He’s always been a RINO.
