Obviously, you get it, as does anyone who's ever run a small shop. That used to be the American Dream. Now it's Envy Time, All the Time in Obama's America. And there's no challenge from the Gutless Old Party, anymore, whose leaders are a species of invertebrate castrati.
America the Beautiful is becoming America the Dumb. Our schools are run by socialists, as is our news media, and most of our politicians, too. Together, they have worked tirelessly to turn a nation of hard-working immigrants and dreamers into a roiling mob of Gimme Girls and Loafing Louts.
A people for whom once no dream ever seemed to be too big, presently wallow in the shallow and the small. The "huddled masses" of old now can't get off their increasingly fat asses to find the remote, but instead just sit and let their brains be rotted from without and from within with mindless entertainment, and news-less news.
And we who yet spend time thinking about such things at length just shake our heads, wondering why our carefully reasoned arguments about taxes, spending, Constitutional government and timeless values seem to pass through people's ears and out into space without even a moment's pause.
It's because "the people" have been prepared. Not for self-governance. Not for independence. Not for success.

I live in a very small rural valley. The local convenience store shut it’s doors last Friday night. Couldn’t continue under Obamacare. They shut it all down.
