Do you have a plan to get where you want to go with a new party? I say it’s impossible but if you can lay out a logical strategy, I’m willing to listen.
Well first off, we need a contrast.
I say position #1 is jobs.
Not unions though. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs.
That is a very important start.
It gets more dicey when considering how that can be done. I would support tariffs but I know a lot of people will complain (big) about that.
My plan for a third party would be as follows:
2014: establish tea party organizations throughout the country at state level. In states such as NY and CT, where they can cross-endorse candidates on the ballot, establish such so tea party-endorsed Republicans can be listed there. In all ststes, have nominating conventions before the GOP primary, so there can be a unified backing of tea party GOP candidates at all levels of office.
2016: also have a national nominating convention before the GOP primaries, so a single tea party candidate for president can be backed nationwide.
2018 and 2020: if all those tea party nominations weren’t enough to get a conservative president and reform the GOP in 2016, move to put the tea party on the ballot in 50 states, and by 2020, look to elect a tea party president.
