Oh, Reagan had his blind spots and his weird priorities. For example, he employed an outspoken and very active nazist in the WH. And when Arafat and the whole of the PLO was under the IDF hammer and about to be killed to the last animal, it was Reagan who shipped them all, with their weapons. to safety. I think it was just that the Evil Empire took everything he had. Goes to show that there’s no such thing as perfect.
But for a bareknuckles political fight, the air traffic controllers should be enough of an example.

Hey, I was in the Err Farce when the strike hit,
and we had many air traffic controllers depart from Seymour Johnson AFB with only a two hour notice before the Lear Jets flew them off to Houston, Jacksonville, New York, and to several Terminal Approach Controls.
After I retired, I worked 5 years with the FAA, and they still hated the USAF for busting their strike.
I love Ronald Reagan. He did the right thing, and he'd do it again.
Unions, go to hell!
