(CNSNews.com) - House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said on Friday that Congress should hand over to President Barack Obama personal, unilateral authority to increase the limit on the U.S. government's debt.
At a Friday press conference, a reporter asked Pelosi if she agreed with a proposal made by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner that Congress give Obama the power to unilaterally increase the debt limit.
"Yes," she said.
When he met with members of Congress on Thursday to discuss a deal to avoid the so-called fiscal cliff that is set to occur at the end of this year, Secretary Geithner suggested that Congress give Obama the personal power as president to lift the legal limit on the federal government's debt.
Amen...And that's exactly what Obama and the RATS want. It slays me that people like this are elected to represent us.

So good old Nazi Pelosi must not remember what Bronco said in 2007 about Bush raising the debt limit...lthat it was a failure in leadership. So does she want Bronco’s presidency to fail? And if so, shouldn’t she be pilloried for that “racist” remark like Boehner was?

No. Spending is a constitutional power of the Congress as initiated by the House.
There is an obvious reason the Founders didn’t give power of the purse to the president.....they didn’t want a monarch.

In other words, there will be no limit at all.
Well it is even worse than that. Obama could actually tell congress that they can’t spend any money above the limit unless he approves it. Another element of blackmail used to control congress who always folds to Obama’s will, and the insatiable need for both to spend money.
The media will agree and the GOP will give in.
