Republican opposition to the possible nomination of Susan Rice to be secretary of state is showing signs of cracking.
Arizona Sen. John McCain now says he'd be willing to meet with Rice, the current U.N. ambassador, and consider her much-scrutinized explanation about how the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, unfolded.
McCain has said GOP senators would do "whatever is necessary" to block Rice if President Barack Obama were to nominate her to replace Hillary Rodham Clinton at the State Department.
On Sunday, McCain was asked on "Fox News Sunday" if Rice could change his mind. McCain said "sure" and that he'd like to meet with her.
McCain and other Republicans have accused the White House of distorting the deadly Benghazi attack for political gain.

I'm pretty sure you can be politically opposed to McCain without being disrespectful to veterans. McCain basically hung out in prison. By hung out, I mean his arms were bound behind his back and he was hung from them. To this day, he requires someone to comb his hair because he can't lift his arms over his head.
I think we know enough about what he did in prison to show a little respect and a little restraint. He is an erratically moderate republican senator which is common enough and certainly doesn't suggest that he did something nefarious while being tortured.
All the rats have to do is yell racism, and the pubs fold like a cheap suit. Thy do it so readily, I think that they want to. Otherwise, hardly anyone but them takes the worn-out race card seriously anymore.
I sure would like to have some evidence that he’s protected the Constitution, whoch is his sole job in the Senate.
What he did during the Clinton impeachment was disgusting, and I spoke with one of his staffers at the time.
Cry racism and the GOP will fold everytime. This gig has been working for the democrats far too long.
The GOP are a bunch of losers.
Obama must have shown McCain where he and Graham keep all the gladiator movies.
bump
In another 10 days the GOP stance will be “SO she lied to the American people for days on end.... what’s the big deal?” //sarc
You are right. Holler racism and the Republicans fold up.
We can all see what good foldingup does them, 93% of blacks voted Democrat.
I suppose they fold up to keep in the good graces of the 7%.
I only wish there was a real party I could join, I would be gone like a shot/
As predictable as the sun rising in the east. The GOP is dead, put a fork in it. Time to move on.
There are those who were POWs with McCain who weren’t happy with him. I’ve always believed the reason he said in his acceptance speech “They broke me” was because he thought obama was going to used something that he did against him.
I’ve always thought mccain was a phony and regret voting for him. Now it’s on my record.
He may have resited the communist North Vietnamese while a POW but he shows no reistance to the communist kenyan and his minions as a gentrified US senator!
Unexpectedly.
...a sigh and a heavy eye roll...
Until a few weeks a ago I thought she was a white woman with a Boehneresque suntan.
Nations all around the world are getting a chucle over this lame nomination; they’ll enjoy four years of guffaws if she gets the job.
Arranging arms deals for muzzie terrorists isn’t my idea of ‘erratically moderate.’
*sigh* She’s going to be the next Sect of State. Count on it.
Republican legislators should just go home and take the next four years off.
What?
Oh. They’ve already been doing that.
Silly me

“We dont know what he did in prison.”
Too true, but worse, some of us are almost convinced that it wasn’t too honorable. That might help to explain much of his bizarre tenure in Congress.
Calling someone a “war hero” for being shot down and held prisoner is a bit like the current Nobel Peace Prize process.
We dont know what he did in prison.
More importantly, we don’t know what was done to him by his COMMUNIST captors.
