It isn’t hard to make the decision that one feels the public school system is an utter and complete failure. It’s intention, from the START and based on Dewey’s teachings, was the destruction of our system of government and to use our children to do it. Well, now it has come to fruition and most of us are scratching our heads and wondering “How did this happen?”

It’s not too late to change it, but the people must do it. If the government won’t abolish the Dept. of Ed and forbid federal interference, then it is incumbent on the states to exercise their 10th amendment rights and REFUSE any input from them, AND the damn money. State universities should be made to do away with degrees in “education” and all control of the schools should be local. Kick out all interference by the unions; make ALL elementary schools “neighborhood” schools; make the intelligent assumption that not ALL kids should go to college and re-vamp the technical and vocational schools. Re-introduce the basics and do away with “multi-cultural” garbage.

We know what needs to be done. Who has the courage to do it?

Yes. Maybe, some of the governors who are refusing to create state insurance exchanges might have the courage to ignore federal education edicts.

In the end, the only way we get our country back may be for 3/5 of it to ignore Washington and its money.

The high cost of college is giving some parents the courage to look at vocational schools for their teens. Young adults who have learned a trade can earn their own way through college if they decide to further their education.

In the 70s, education majors were told that they did not need to learn the subject matter for what they were going to teach - that they would be facilitators and help the students ‘discover’ the subject matter. That’s why we now have so many IGNORANT teachers and IGNORANT students.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

We see these statements frequently ( local control and end of federal interference). While absolutely better than what we have now it is not enough.

**Please**, can I persuade you to see this differently? All government owned and run socialist-entitlement schooling must be abolished. We must begin the process. Why?

1) Local control of a corrupt idea is still corrupt. Government owned and run socialist-funded, single-payer, compulsory-funded, godless (secular), and compulsory-use schools are a corrupt because their philosophic foundations are corrupt.

2) Socialism is corrupt and government schools are, ( and always have been) a socialist-entitlement. The children who attend risk learning that the government ( even very local government) has the power to give them tuition-free schooling. Well!...If the voting mob can give them tuition-free school, why not **lots** of free stuff?

3) Fundamentally, government schooling is a freedom of conscience and First Amendment abomination even if the districts were the size of a city block. Why?

Answer: Because it is absolutely impossible to have a religiously, culturally, and politically neutral education. It likely almost impossible to get all citizens, ( even in a district as small as a suburban subdivision) , to fully agree on any government school's political, cultural, or religious worldview. Inevitably, the most powerful and organized voting mob gets to indoctrinate the next generation of voter in their anointed and government established cultural, political, and religious belief.

Very respectfully...please consider what I have posted.
