As you both probably know, engaging with this blood-soaked little smurf is quite literally a dead end.

Chris37 is polite enough, and I hadn’t paid much attention to him until recently, so the other day I took him up on his banner issue, that of the Republican Party embracing (or at least actively ignoring) the cause of free and unlimited infanticide.

After several of his bland and oddly sheepish posts he finally came around to admitting that he thinks the U.S. is lost, that Republican and conservative voters are lost, and that moral issues are “a genie that has been let out of the bottle,” thus deserve no more thought, energy or commitment of any kind.

He believes we are finished, and that principle and even discussion are pointless, and yet he shows up here virtually daily to wave his flag of killing more of the unborn and partially-born.

Seems to me there is some kind of weird self-loathing going on, a dull nihilism that borders on self-destructiveness, much like that seen in the craziest and most flamboyant lefties, i.e., Michael Moore, Alan Grayson and, perhaps most appropriately, Mitch Snyder and his ilk.

The guy’s only outlet and seeming secret delight is to show up here and plead for death.

Whitey, it doesn’t seem to me that you are capable of understanding my posts or the reasoning behind them.

Let me spell it out for you as plainly as I can.

First off, I am not pleading for death or the killing of the unborn. I am against abortion in almost all circumstances. There are 3 circumstances in which I am for abortion being legal. That does not mean I want abortion to happen in those three instances, what it means is that if someone elects to have an abortion in under those specific circumstances, I don’t want them to be arrested, prosecuted and imprisoned.

Secondly, what I have seen from the right, which includes conservatives, Christians, the GOP and the GOP-e is that all of them, with regard to the issues that mean the most to them, and in the specific conversation that issue is abortion, this group of people is absolutely incapable of engineering anything other than their utter, total crushing defeat.

Furthermore, this group of people seems to think that there is some virtue in losing, which is suppose is the rationale of someone who can do nothing other than lose.

My advice to obsess less about abortion is not a plea for more babies to be killed. It is a plea for people who are pro life to try a different strategy, because the one advanced thus far is absolute total failure.

Analyze this if you want, and say what you want about me, I do not care, your words do not hurt me, and they not help you. They are meaningless, because they have no power behind them whatsoever. Until you are able to straegize a means to victory, the things you say on this subject are simply background noise, people wishing they could do the right thing but having no plan or strategy to implement the right thing.

Essentially, what I can see of the plan thus far is you want it all at once or none of it, and so you have none of it and will continue to have none of it until you smarten up.

I am certainly not trying to “beat up on Romney”, nor am I trying to excuse anyone - in or out of office - who is critical of Romney. At the same time, I think MOST of the blame for Romney’s loss lies with (a) Romney and his team, and (b) where not their fault it was due to factors that were in the hands of voters and going to go - voter by voter - based their own ignorance or understanding.

Again, I could care less about Gingrich, Jindahl or Christie. At the same time I think they had little to do with Romney being defeated.

If Romney and his team want anyone else to understand their “lessons learned”, for the benefit of anyone else in the GOP, they need to examine themselves and their campaign.

That is whay I ask that they quit pointing fingers at others.

I apologize to you...I did not mean to imply that you were ‘beating up on Romney’. I intended that comment to apply to Gingrich, Jindal, and Christie who I consider to be opportunists of the worst sort. Their comments sounded to me as if they were suggesting that Republicans should bend over backwards to be nice to Democrats, and “to get along, go along.” I think Republicans have been doing too much of this, and I think the Obama administration should be exposed at every opportunity as the frauds and crooks many of them are.

I agree with Romney that the entitlements Obama was making available to blacks, immigrants, and women were nothing more than gifts (money) to insure they vote for him. If the three hypocrites cared for the Republican Party they would have made their suggestions or comments privately to Republican leaders rather than to the media.

Sorry again for giving the impression that you were beating up on anyone.

The argument on this thread about Romney’s “gaffe” is another proof, as if we needed one, of the stickiness of the memes and narratives invented out of whole cloth and relentlessly publicized by the main sewer media. They could have called it, say, as my Thesaurus suggest, ‘indecorum’ and the parrots everywhere would repeat... ‘indecorum’, although four syllables might be kinda hard to say and type for the parroting monkeys. A statement of fact or something close to it should never be a “gaffe”. In this case, it was just inconvenient truth. The crime was not Romney’s in this case, but the schmuck’s who secretly recorded the private speech, but about such violations of trust you’ll never hear on the MSM channels.

The right has been utterly defeated to every possible extent regarding abortion. Obsessing over it has not helped that cause in any way, shape or form. What it has done is advance it.

Being prolife is what keeps the GOP alive, it is also part of the key that we can use to try to get Catholics to switch over to the republican party.

Romney lost an easy election, and he was the most pro-abortion republican candidate in history.

Why do you keep calling being pro-life, "obsessing", why are you so obsessed with silencing the pro-life movement?

As the most hard left nominee ever, Romney represented an extensive liberal agenda, he will have a voice with rinos.

For one thing, Romney will want to continue to promote and defend Romney/Obamacare, and of course he agreed with homosexualizing the Boy Scouts and the military, and he wanted to make the party platform pro-abortion, so he has a voice with those who share his anti-social conservative/antiReagan, agenda.

I didn’t.

I was referring specifically to you and no one other than you when I said that, that’s why the post was directed to you.

Let me spell it out for you:

1. “obsess less” =/= silence.

2. You =/= pro-life movement.

But you can keep on trying to stuff your words in my mouth if you want, I fully expect you too, because you seem a little uh overzealous and extra creative to say the least.

Romney only equaled McCain.

Roughly the same number 59m, and 59m as McCain in 2008, meaning that in 2012, Romney left millions on the table against Carter the II.

2008 was an election that we couldn’t win.

2012, was an election that we couldn’t lose.

You guys cannot deny that the GOP made no gains in voters between the two elections, that they were roughly equal in persuading voters to vote republican, except against two COMPLETELY different versions of Obama, two totally different eras.

What a disaster Romney was, we were running against Jimmy Carter and a near depression this time, versus history, Bush fatigue, war fatigue, recession, and the first black president last time.

You have used the word obsess repeatedly, and to 4 different freepers.

Being prolife is what keeps the GOP alive, it is also part of the key that we can use to try to get Catholics to switch over to the republican party.

Romney lost an easy election, and he was the most pro-abortion republican candidate in history.

Why do you want the pro-life movement/party/candidates to silence itself, to take less interest in ending abortion?

"You have used the word obsess repeatedly, and to 4 different freepers."

Well there are some obsessive people around here, but the "obsess" you are referring to was to you.

Being prolife is what keeps the GOP alive, it is also part of the key that we can use to try to get Catholics to switch over to the republican party.

No it isn't. First of all, I voted republican this election and every election since 1992, and not one of those votes and anything to do with pro-life or not pro-life. You might think that, but not everyone is "obsessed" with abortion.

"Romney lost an easy election, and he was the most pro-abortion republican candidate in history."

Well, I don't know if that is actually true or not, but I'll say this. Pro-lifers who stayed home refusing to vote for him now have the most pro abortion democrat in history as president, and aborted babies on demand for the next four years minimum.

Nice work.

You know, if being pro-life is what keeps the GOP alive, the GOP doesn't seem too damn successful at being pro-life now does it?

"Why do you want the pro-life movement/party/candidates to silence itself, to take less interest in ending abortion?"

I don't want it to silence itself, I want it to lead by example and the reason for that is because that is all it can do at this point. The pro-life movement has been utterly crushed by the enemy. It has failed to advance itself or its agenda.

Furthermore, the issue is used by the enemy to divide pro choice women from the party as well as pro choice men. Beyond that the pro-life movement itself uses the issue to further divide itself from anyone within its own party that may differ from them even slightly by calling them murderers and so on.

If a candidate does not recite the exact position of the pro-life movement, then the pro-life movement doesn't show up to vote, loses, claims virtue in the loss, and when the party then says they are thinking of dropping the issue altogether, the pro-life movement says we aren't going to show up and you will lose...

You know, to put it bluntly, the pro-life movement is essentially a worthless political ally. If it doesn't get exactly what it wants, it becomes a foe, and since it's never going to get exactly what it wants, what really is even the point?

Being prolife is what keeps the GOP alive, it is also part of the key that we can use to try to get Catholics to switch over to the republican party, regardless of why you vote as an individual.

Romney lost an easy election, and he was the most pro-abortion republican candidate in history. The naturally conservative, pro-life Evangelicals still voted for him by 79%, but he made zero inroads with the millions of votes that had abandoned Obama, Romney was a weak, candidate, with no real convictions to run on, and couldn’t even appeal to moderates, although he himself was moderate, he was lucky that he got your moderate vote, most social liberals are democrats.

Polls show over and over, that abortion motivates the pro-life voters, but not so much the pro-abortion voters.

If you get your wish and drive life out of the party, the GOP will die.

It seems to me that pro-life is already out of the party and that the GOP is already dead.

From what I can see at this point, the GOP is going to try to build a coalition that does not include pro-life, which to me does not seem like a smart move, but pro-life cannot be counted on anyway as shown in the last primary and election.

Divided we fell.

Because I differ with the pro-life movement by exactly three degrees, I am a blood soaked little smurf pleading for the death of babies...

That’s some damn fine coalition building right there, whooweee.

Anyhow, good luck to you, and piece of advice, you might want to obsess on abortion less, but it probably doesn’t matter any more at this point much.
