“A good modern example here is GM. The major US car manufacturer (and union pensions provider!) that was ‘protected’ using the non-tariff remedies of massive, illegal Government debt-forgiveness and contract awards. Has GM cars magically got better thanks to the ‘helping hand of Government’? I think we all know the answer to that.”

GM (and chrysler’s) collapse would have lead to millions-more workers unemployed, with no decent work to absorb them. And the pension fund was federally insured! So letting GM and Chrysler die would have been much more expensive than saving them. And the quality of their vehicles has been improving, though it’s been a long slog.

What some of these folks won't tell ya, is in today's America, there are *more* unionized government employees, than in the private sector.

Unionized millions of government employees, while big biz and corrupt biggov flooded the country with tens of millions of low wage employees...That wasn't enough, so they exported tens hundreds of thousands of jobs to dirt cheap labor land, Communist China, etc...

Profits regardless of consequences.

None of these people care about America, it's independence or it's future. Bigger bottom line is all that matters.
