So I guess the over $700 million in loans Hostess is burdened with had nothing to do with the shutdown . . . or the 80% raises for management?
yup, iam sure there’s a long list of folks somewhere in imagination land lining up and thinking “why i just can’t wait to buy hostess and employ all the people who shut it down.”
libtard wet dreams. all their schemes still require someone else’s money to save them.
or you can buy twinkies from any number of other vendors like little debbie for example.
The union workers had a chance to not only save their jobs, but save the Hostess company as well! Instead the union workers and the greedy union thugs chose to kill their own jobs and the company to boot! How in heavens name they could chose to do this to themselves and to their families in this totally failed and failing economy is beyond all reason and comprehension.
After their unemployment benefits all run out, the banks foreclose on their homes and these union workers lose everything, I hope they and their families enjoy living on the street, in their cars and in homeless shelters because they have no one to blame for the mess they are in but THEMSELVES. As for the union leadership THUG bosses who motivated them to take this delusional course of self destruction... they will still "land on their feet" and will as Hans Gruber so aptly put it; "We will be sitting on a beach, earning 20%."
Lord willing, other union workers will finally wake up, learn the "Hostess lesson" and realize that their union overlord, thug bosses do not care about them or the companies that employ them and pay their salary, but only care about themselves, their wealth and their power.
And more to the point, the same union workers that drove the previous owners into bankruptcy.
Screw ‘em. They had a chance at employment and blew it.
Hire some kids out out of cooking schools.
Im into Little Debbie myself.
Now I see why Hostess cakes were so expensive...unions
That was tried several times in the past. Most of the time, it failed.
I believe the first one was the lathe plant, South Bend. They bought themselves out of bankruptcy, installed their own “management”, and after a few years, went on strike against themselves. They went out of business and were liquidated.
CBS radio news just said that the union and Hostess have reached an agreement and the 18,000 jobs are saved.
“If Bimbo (the Mexican company) becomes the buyer, they will probably not only move production to right-to-work states, they will hire the newly minted DREAMers to replace the the union employees.”
. . . and the SEIU would be firmly entrenched in 5 years.
They will want the new owners to pay them what they were demanding of Hostess. They’re not very smart.
I hope they get bought and only re-established in right to work states. Deprive the union states of twinkies or sell them at a price reflecting the transportation to get them there.
two unions - bakers and drivers.
That is what I would expect.
Who did the unions blame then?
What about those GREAT cupcakes and donuts???
