As for Chester Arthur, the records proving his father’s foreign birth were not available until well after Arthur was out of office.
There is evidence that Arthur deliberately hid these facts, as it was rumored at the time of his running that he was ineligible, but it could not be proven.

At some point, the corrective course of action must be made, and the law upheld.

Look, we’re barely 3 weeks from the past failure of an election, and I’m sick of this meme already about who is going to run in 2016. I’m also sick of the purist attitude coming from some on here already. They won’t vote for this one or that one and Good God - we’ve lost 2 elections in a row - and unlike the Demoncrats - we eat our own already. Yeah, they believe in abortion on the left, but our side cannibalizes anyone on our side who runs. I’ve read about Chester Arthur, and have not read that he tried to conceal where his father was born.
Give it a rest already, will you? Rubio hasn’t announced he is going to run - and if he does, I suspect that FReepers will dissect him and spit him out as they have done all our candidates.
