Forget the NRA. Why is it that 85% of the population believes it was Democrats who ushered in the Civil Rights Act? Biggest derilection of duty by elected Republicans that I can think of. They have sat back and let that narrative play out ad nauseum for decades. No ONE is able or willing to set the record straight. No one.
The GOP indeed needs to fire all their irrelevant and useless strategists. They need to have pockets of organizations embedded in every single urban area from coast to coast. This is where Obama won. Just look at the red/blue map. Our work is truly uphill, but when the truth is on your side, you can accomplish a miracle.

How come they don't know that it was Democrats that killed the CRA so that Eisenhower wouldn't get credit for it?
How come they don't know that the KKK was established to be the terrorist wing of the Democrat party?
How come they don't know that the military was integrated in the Civil War and was resegregated under Woody Wilson — A Democrat?
How come they don't know that a black man was killed at the Boston Massacre or that there were many black Patriots that fought with the Colonial Army?
