The Republicans are terrible at communicating. They do assume everyone knows what they are saying when they say nothing. And when they do speak, it’s with the wrong emphasis and weak words. They don’t know how to repeat.. to drum it in... or to convince.

And the ones who CAN communicate? Like Rush, Levin, Palin- couldn't get elected to anything in a million years, even if they were willing to run for office. I think a lot of Americans hate these people's guts because they CAN communicate, and more importantly because they can communicate the truth. I think Americans "can't handle the truth" even when they do hear it.

The Republicans are terrible at communicating.

One of the iron rules in advertising is that a consumer has to see or hear a message a minimum of 25 times before they decide to act.

Probably right - but if you’ve got people who really know the game but can’t play themselves, they become your coaches. ALl those you named should be on the Board of Directors for “The Conservative Channel”, and Heritage Foundation, Hillsdale College, and other resources should be cranking out the material for them to present in primetime, on the internet, and especially on programming tailored to Hispanic Americans who aren’t going to get the message of conservatism by channel surfing or osmosis.

To use a different metaphone, we’ve got a great product, but lousy packaging and no marketing.

The problem is not merely that the conservatives you mention can communicate, but more importantly that they communicate conservatism. The Republican apparat has been dismantling grassroots conservatism and Reaganism since the day George Herbert Walker Bush was sworn in for his first and final term as President. The Rockefeller Republicans run the GOP.
