Yeah, and what if we do, and it still doesn’t work? Which it won’t. Studies show that the majority of Hispanics vote for Dems because they’ve bought into the social justice canard as well. In short, they want the freebies that other “minorities” get. The proof that appealing to social values is a failed idea is the fact that millions of non-Hispanic Catholics voted for Obama. In fact more Catholics voted for Obama than didn’t. Appealing to their moral values won’t get us anywhere with these people. Sorry, we can’t get the minority vote. Not as long as there’s a welfare state and millions of suckers who support it.

If we pander to someone, the democrats will pander more and then we’ll be forced to up the ante again.

How did Romney appeal to Catholics when it came to values votes? At best he was a squish on the abortion issue, floating a trial balloon midway through the campaign in which he tried to broaden the circumstances under which he found abortion acceptable. At worst he was being disingenuous with his own record as governor of Taxachusetts. Of course Catholics voters did not trust Romney on the values vote.
