You are overlooking something - many Hispanics live in communities rife with crime.

I believe appealing to the Rule of Law, that it protects people and their businesses/jobs, will go a very long way with the majority of Hispanics. Respect for law along with conservative social values is the way to go in order to bring minorities into the Republican Party.

Pandering and providing special threatment, the horrid “good for thee but not for me” should never be used by people of principle as it is divisive.

Another good point. I think a good conservative Republican could personalize this to the Hispanic community. Not by special laws, but by explaining how good laws that apply to everyone will help them in their communities. Hispanic mothers and fathers are no different than any other parents in that they want to know their children are safe and will have opportunities to advance in life.
