Yeah, it may have worked in Canada but in the US the growth in the Latino vote isn’t being driven by immigrants but by their children. There is a huge demographic bulge of young Latinos entering the voting pool. Like all young people, they are super-liberal. This is why the Latino vote is getting more liberal: because the percentage of young Latinos is going up.
Good point. Although I think opportunities through military service would offset this somewhat, since military service tends to instil more conservative values in young people.
