(CNSNews.com) -- Although the Republican-dominant House of Representatives controls the federal purse strings, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said that Tuesdays election victory by President Barack Obama changed how he will approach the GOP goal of repealing the health reform law, saying that the presidents reelection made it the law of the land.
Well, I think the election changes that. Its pretty clear that the president was re-elected. Obamacare is the law of the land, Boehner told ABC News Diane Sawyer in an interview Thursday when asked if the House GOP would still make repeal its mission.
However, Boehner also said that the law was still on the table, noting that he still considered it bad policy and that it was not off limits as he begins negotiations with Obama over key budgetary issues.
As House Speaker, Boehner can prevent any funding for Obamacare or any aspect of it through amendments to funding legislation, to a continuing resolution, or by simply not allowing a floor vote on the funding.
I think there are parts of the health care law that are going to be very difficult to implement and very expensive and, at a time when were trying to find a way to create a path toward a balanced budget, everything has to be on the table, he said in the ABC interview.
When pressed, Boehner clarified that no decision had been made yet over which parts of the law would be included in negotiations, saying that parts of the law could be on the table.
There are certainly maybe parts of it that we believe need to be changed we may do that, no decisions at this point, he said.
Boehner repeated during the interview that he viewed Obamas reelection and Republicans failure to achieve a Senate majority as a mandate from the American public for the two parties to work together, saying that it was simply the hand he was dealt.
I may not like the five cards that were dealt to me but those are the cards Ive got in my hand, he said. Now my job on behalf of the American people is to find a way to work with my Democrat colleagues and our Democrat President to solve Americas problems. If there was one mandate that came out of the election, it was [to] find a way to work together to address our problems.
Boehners office clarified his remarks about repeal of Obamacare on Thursday, after excerpts of the interview were released to the public. His official Twitter account posted a message saying that he remained committed to full repeal of the law.
ObamaCare is the law of the land, but it is raising costs and hurting #smallbiz. Our goal remains #fullrepeal, Boehner tweeted.
Boehner spokesman Kevin Smith also clarified the Speakers intentions on Obamacare, saying that House Republicans were committed to repealing the law despite the reelection of its namesake president.
While Obamacare is the law of the land, it is costing us jobs and threatening our health care, Smith told the liberal website Talking Points Memo. Speaker Boehner and House Republicans remain committed to repealing the law, and he said in the interview it would be on the table.
Obamas reelection has made repeal of the law extremely difficult for Republicans after they failed to secure a Senate majority and a President who would sign repeal legislation. Obama has repeatedly stated that he has no intention of negotiating over the law and Senate Democrats have refused to vote on multiple repeal bills sent to them by the House.
Hint: They are BOTH under the same systemic control.
I will say this in defense of a parliamentary democracy: Canada was able to jettison its version of the Republicans within a generation and institute a real Conservative Party (that has won the last three general elections).
I think that we ought to concentrate on reforming the system to eliminate this duopoly of Republican and Democrat and institute means to allow or even nurture political parties that fit to their demographics, rather than require the various demographics to fit to them. In God we trust; all others pay cash...
Get that in writing from the doctor and we will go from there.
Really Boehner, the Law of the Land? Then it applies to you, also. Remember these are yours words and you must obey the Law of the Land. I guess we have to hold all those maggots elites who have a different plan to the fire - on his words.
“Mr. President, we can't spend more as it will destroy our currency.”
Two Good Things, and It’s a Stretch, About the Re-Election of President Obama

With the Media that’s a wing of this Administration, they would crucify all Republicans in the House just Iike they did in August 2011 during the debt ceiling debates.
Maybe more people did! A shame you blame the people and not the fraud!
And I will knock him for it - unless he obeys his own words “the Law of the Land”. Unless he moves out of the USA, I will knock that POS elite!
Romney = legal managed bankruptcy with government guaranties
Obama = illegal take over of the auto industry stealing money form bond holders, preferred stockholders, etc. and giving the proceeds to cronies like union workers.
I do believe there was fraud, but because of 0bamacare, Romney should have had another 20 million voters above McCain’s totals - it shouldn’t have even been close.
There is always an ebb and flow. So let us understand the ebb that is going on and act accordingly. If we reduce the extortion taxes we pay to the Federal Government (through legal means) by a significant level, that will impact them. Looking at news sources over the last few days highlights all the businesses that are firing people. Eventually, we will have more than the 'Obamaphone' parasites voicing their opinions.
Gandhi won India from the British, remember?
It is clear to me that the GOP-e are ‘open’ to becoming Democrats. Perhaps they can all assimilate into one big happy party! Obamacare, immigration reform, and higher taxes for all! woohoo, liberal utopia, HERE WE COME...(kill me now)
Yes, with his own words, he must, ALSO, follow the Law of the Land or leave voluntarily (by saying he had an affair)
We are now officially a One-Party State, even the former Communist countries allowed one or two token parties to pretend to be their opposition.
Bingo.
Right now we need to let this odious law settle in. People are going to lose their company healthcare. Workers will become part time employees or be laid off. Doctors will retire early ..... It will be a mess. Obama will be blamed.
The only way I can think of now is have ALL of them have obamacare. Slam them with it, from the President on down ALL will be under obamacare - the Law of the Land/his own words.
It IS now or never.
Read Mark Steyn's "After America" to see as forecast of just how high the price will be, not just for the US, but the Western world.
You are very naive. Have you not been paying attention to the media?
Obama will never be blamed. The doctors will be blamed first, and will be crushed. They are the ultimate kulaks in our present communist fantasyland.
Next, the shells of the destroyed insurance companies. When the House complains, Republicans will get the chop.
Lastly, somehow, Bush and Romney will be blamed.
Obama is the last one on earth who will pay the price for this disaster.
