He had an affair. Because those things can lead to blackmail, he had to resign. He did the right thing.

He was widely known as a man of integrity, prior to this. I still think he was. If he resigned to avoid testifying under oath, that is more behavior I would expect of a political coward, not a military hero. I think it more likely that someone threatened to out him about his affair if he didn’t slant his testimony to benefit Obama. So he resigned and outed himself. If so, he can now testify and rebuild his integrity.

This one stinks to high heaven.

The FBI was doing an investigation on something completely different and somehow Broadwell and than Petraeus gets tangled up in it.

I agree with you-he was threatened with exposure unless he lied to congress about Benghazi. But if he tells the truth about what happened, he will lose his retirement. The government and Obama presidency will seek revnge on him that way. He’s in a lose/lose situation. And just why did Obama pull him back from Aphganistan and put him in CIA in the first place?
