You are right. There are already more Romney votes counted for the swing states Virginia and Florida than there were in the final tally for McCain in those states. In Ohio there are so far about 100,000 fewer votes counted for Romney than there were for McCain, whereas Obama has so far 250,000 fewer votes counted.
I noticed however that there are so far about a million fewer votes counted for the Republicans 2012 vs 2008 in the Sandy states of NY, NJ, and CT, where it doesn't matter (1.5 million fewer for Obama than in 2008).
If there are protest voters who stayed home rather than vote for Romney, they very well could be in the Solid Red States where there was no danger of Obama winning.
So the Rush thesis looks like a Red Herring. When Tea Party favorites like Murdoch and Akin lose eminently winnable seats, for speaking on social issues that posters here regularly advocate, we have to question whether we want candidates who speak on those issues rather than emphasize the economic and the proper role of government.

You had members of the media who had no problem at all with instances of actual rape by Bill Clinton standing there, right arms outstretched, fingers pointing ~ and hissing 'HE SAID RAPE, HE SAID RAPE' ~ so much for the 'newsies'.
They will be out of business soon, and most of them will need to commit seppuku since they have no marketable skills ~ even casual gay sex isn't for sale anymore.
