WASHINGTON In a wide-ranging interview, House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) said raising tax rates is unacceptable, vice presidential nominee Paul D. Ryan is not the new leader of the GOP and the reelection of President Obama means the nations new healthcare law is the law of the land.
Boehner spoke to ABC News Diane Sawyer on Thursday, his first post-election interview as the divided Congress prepares to negotiate with the White House over the scheduled year-end tax hikes and spending cuts that economists fear will put the economy back in a recession.
Im the most reasonable, responsible person here in Washington, said Boehner, who is expected to remain speaker in the new House Republican majority. The president knows it. He knows that he and I can work together. The elections over. Now its time to get to work.

The Ohio Republican said he called it quits at about 11:15 p.m. on election night once Romney was poised to lose, but still slept like a baby.

Guess that is called caring too much for your nation, your kids and your grandkids.
Guess Boner doesn't shive a git.
So, F'im.
Traitor!
Of course he slept like a baby. These guys go to DC and become rich. His family will fare well. He doesn’t know or care about yours.
HE is the only one we have in DC with any power on our side.
And that is the problem.
Backhanded comment? Is that anything like his golf swing with his buddy Obama?
What a puke. This is our firewall.
We are about to be burnt to a crisp.
We need a new Speaker.
I feel like a stranger in a strange land. This is unreal. It's as if our 50% of the country doesn't exist for them.
Spoken like a true member of the Politboro, the Republican Party leaders are happy Romney lost, they in no way wanted to repeal Obamacare.
A true conservative leader would say, 49% of the American people do not want this, and they are the one’s paying the bills.
I will never vote for another McCain/Romney type Republican, ever.
Why does this fellow get so many passes. Limbaugh just bites his tongue, almost literally, and will not say anything negative about him. More than once I have heard in response to some angry caller or some new sellout by Bohner something like this:
“Ahh,ugh,um,um, Bohner is a decent guy, um ah, he means well. i have player golf with him and he is a good guy and umm, well ah that's about all i can say.”
Why is this House equivalent of Roberts so untouchable and above real criticism for his deliberately destructive and traitorous actions? Why is he always called ‘a good guy’. He is not , his is worse than an open enemy like bug eyes Pelosi. He is like a Vichyite.
I just watched two very short clips from this interview. That apparently is all ABC has released so far.
Diane Sawyer is a joke. I never watch her; but, if this interview is any indication of what she is like...
The American People voted and they want a tax hike...LOL
Boehner said there will no tax rate hikes and that he had layed out a pathway to compromise. Sawyer continues to say the American people want a tax hike. Boehner reiterates his position. End of Clip
There is one other, Sawyer talks about the “Tea Party” caucus in the House. Boehner says there is no tea party caucus. That they all work together..or something like that.
Sawyer is another lib pig...I thought it was interesting about the Tea Party....libs really hate them.
Wait until the whole interview comes out and watch it. Don’t rely on the leftist media for your news. They are disinformation agents and will use you and divide you from others like you.
Classic communist propaganda.
-— Its time for some fresh blood in GOP leadershiop who will stick to the game plan and pound the kenyan/dims on a daily basis.-—
Yes. But you’re probably pessimistic, like I am. Boehner doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
Batten down the hatches. The storm is coming.
My dad told me how, as a kid in school, in 1939 Poland, they heard over the radio of the signing of the Non-Aggression Pact, and knowing what was coming.
We have a small sense of that today.
