LAS VEGAS (CBS Las Vegas) A Las Vegas business owner with 114 employees fired 22 workers today, apparently as a direct result of President Obamas re-election.
David (he asked to remain anonymous for obvious reasons) told Host Kevin Wall on 100.5 KXNT that elections have consequences and that at the end of the day, I need to survive.
Heres an excerpt from the interview. Click the audio tab below to hear even more from this compelling conversation: . . . Im just one guy with 114 employees well was 114 employees watch what happens in the next six months. The Dow alone lost 314 points today. Theres a tsunami coming and if you didnt think this election had consequences, just wait.

As of nov 6th 10pm cst I regard all Obama voters as my enemy. I will treat them as such. From here on in nothing is bushes fault, not even obamas fault ( since what he is doing is what he intended its not a mistake) everything is the Obama voters fault.
I hope you are wrong, but I fear you are right.
It will be interesting to see the reaction to all the job layoffs over the next few weeks. Unemployment will most definately top 8%...yes, I know it is closer to 15% in reality:)
My company will not hire over six employees regardless if the economy calls for it. Only veterans need to apply. Period. We usually need a dozen to perform concrete deliveries and the building of our concrete septic tanks.
maybe I’ll start using my home gym.
my health is the ONE thing Obama and MN rats have not figured out how to steal from me yet.
Bring the Pain.
On the plus side, this gives me an excellent opportunity to go back and finish my degree, as well as work on my novel which has been languishing ever since I accepted the management position a few years back.
Sorry for my sort-of-duplicate post. Thought I caught it in time.. :/
If people only knew the number of physicians who are cutting back or shutting down completely they’d be shocked. Right now most of the physicians I know are collecting less than 45% of what they bill out. Insurance companies have cut back their reinbursement and medicare is now cutting their by a third which will cut their reimbursement back to 40% or less. And the paperwork is tremendous.
What physician is going to work 70 hours a week, pay their staff, take call, pay malpractice insurance and then get paid 40% for what they do? With taxes their take home will be .25 or less cents on the dollar.
I totally agree with you. I deleted all enemies off my Facebook that I do not want to see any of there opinions. I have been in the worst hatefull mood since Tuesday even to my liberal family. I’m done with them. I am only going to shop and buy from conservative places. I need to find a list of where not to buy from or shop from.
I work for a midwestern company that sells just about everything for shooting, reloading, gunsmithing and hunting. Our phones were busy and our website was absolutely slammed with orders.
We are losing the night shift all together next month. I am currently moving the best 2-3 to the day shift just before the announcement.
My GP just sent notice he is retiring, he is nowhere near retirement age. I guess he just wants to protect his nest egg and not put up with Obamacare.

Obamacare will be a nearly unbearable tax burden on the economy.
Who will pay? The middle-class workforce, of course.
So with another four years for President Obama to look forward to, and the obvious inevitability of Obamacare that this entails, let’s examine the very real jobs that will be lost, and the very real lives that will be affected.
Welch Allyn
Welch Allyn, a company that manufactures medical diagnostic equipment in central New York, announced in September that they would be laying off 275 employees, or roughly 10% of their workforce over the next three years. One of the major reasons discussed for the layoffs was a proactive response to the Medical Device Tax mandated by the new healthcare law.
Dana Holding Corp.
As recently as a week ago, a global auto parts manufacturing company in Ohio known as Dana Holding Corp., warned their employees of potential layoffs, citing “$24 million over the next six years in additional U.S. health care expenses”. After laying off several white collar staffers, company insiders have hinted at more to come. The company will have to cover the additional $24 million cost somehow, which will likely equate to numerous cuts in their current workforce of 25,500 worldwide.
Stryker
One of the biggest medical device manufacturers in the world, Stryker will close their facility in Orchard Park, New York, eliminating 96 jobs in December. Worse, they plan on countering the medical device tax in Obamacare by slashing 5% of their global workforce - an estimated 1,170 positions.
Boston Scientific
In October of 2009, Boston Scientific CEO Ray Elliott, warned that proposed taxes in the health care reform bill could “lead to significant job losses” for his company. Nearly two years later, Elliott announced that the company would be cutting anywhere between 1,200 and 1,400 jobs, while simultaneously shifting investments and workers overseas - to China.
Medtronic
In March of 2010, medical device maker Medtronic warned that Obamacare taxes could result in a reduction of precisely 1,000 jobs. That plan became reality when the company cut 500 positions over the summer, with another 500 set for the end of 2013.
Others
A short list of other companies facing future layoffs at the hands of Obamacare:
Smith & Nephew - 770 layoffs
Abbott Labs - 700 layoffs
Covidien - 595 layoffs
Kinetic Concepts - 427 layoffs
St. Jude Medical - 300 layoffs
Hill Rom - 200 layoffs
Beyond the complete elimination of a significant number of American jobs is another looming problem created by the health care law - a shift from full-time to part-time workers.
Companies like Kroger and Darden are already shifting or contemplating a shift to part-time employees.

Just you watch. Soon it will be illegal to fire workers if you are making “enough” money. If you reduce hours to avoid Obamacare, it will be “ evading taxes”. If you dont hire illegals, it will be discrimination. If you leave a state, or move to another country, you will be taxed on the profits you wouldbhave made if you stayed, and bureaucrats will determine those profits. That would also be a form of tax evasion.
I blocked all their emails and defriended on facebook a bunch of these dumb butts. I am done with them.
dailyjobcuts.com has a listing of layoffs and business closures.
I saw your similar post and link last night. Later on in the news saw a 7.4+ in the Phillipenes and Guatamala.
We have a lot of medical device companies here in MN.
Senator Klobuchuckles has claimed to have a plan to protect them.
I’m guessing there’s probabbly some Obamacare waivers in store IF they contribute the ‘right way’ and maybe agree to unionize or kiss their collective fat senatorial asses.
