Thane,
What Ohioan said....
I’ve been with my current company for 19.5 years, and in the defense industry with other companies for 14 years previous to that. For the first time in my life I have a chance at retirement.
I saw the effect of the Clinton defence industry cuts back in 1989-1992....
Turned a once prosperous working class city into a blighted inner city.
Not to mention the ripple effect on the surrounding businesses.
People out of work don’t buy things, eat out, or go on holiday.
Be careful what you wish for...
All the tax cuts need to expire.....
Republicans are losing this battle because; so many Democrat voters don’t have any skin in the game.
People that are paying little taxes right now(poor) and the middle class, need to start feeling the pain of voting for Democrats.
The average Tax rate for someone making less than 20k a year is something like 10% that needs to go to 30%..
Then maybe people will start to vote Republican. Right now a lot of Democrat voters pay nothing into the system and get a lot out of it.
That needs to change, or they will never have any incentive to vote for a GOP candidate.
