Yes we in Louisiana have the most gun rights of any state now. They can’t regulate our right to bear arms.

We also had 70% voter turnout and voted 60%-40% for Romney.

I’m proud of my state and all of us here.

The right of each citizen to acquire, keep, possess, transport, carry, transfer, and use arms for defense of life and liberty, and for all other legitimate purposes is fundamental and shall not be denied or infringed, and any restriction on this right shall be subject to strict scrutiny.

That is an excellent improvement on the previous language but it does leave a loophole for regulation. Instead of 'subject to strict scrutiny,' which allows regulation as long as it meets someone's definition of that phrase, it would have been better to have said 'shall be unlawful.'
