I agree. For the foreseeable future, abortion is still an issue where enough hearts and minds can be won. Gay marriage is not.
In other words, the traditional marriage issue did not pull down Romney/Ryan. If they had been bigger traditional marriage supporters, it would have pulled them up. They could have even, arguably, won over some of the HUGE number of conservative Evangelicals who DIDN'T VOTE. That's the big, big number people aren't talking about. That's the "dog that didn't bark".
