Rove was the worst thing ever for Republican politics. He put together plans that were designed to get 270 votes by concentrating on a handful of states in the middle, and counting on the states that Ronald Reagan had made solidly conservative. A bigger man would would have thought to return America to the coalition of Ronald Reagan, convincing the electorate about big ideas, freedom, limited government, low taxes, properity, strong national defense and pride. Bush was so timid, Republican became about cronies, one tax cut, high spending and letting himself be destroyed by socialists. Rove did that. Get lost, KR!

Useless? No. He was spot on in 2008 and he’s calling it the way he sees it. I don’t know why people have such a hard time with this. Romney is not leading in any of the swing states he needs. It’s not more complicated than that. Could GOP turnout upset the polls? Sure but you can’t blame Rove or anyone else for not buying into your feel good mood.

Well, the ratings on Special Report must suck because Rove said NO SUCH THING...Rove sounded very hesitant to say ANYTHING good abt Romney’s chances...
He needs to go away...

Geographically the bulk of New Mexico is solidly conservative with the exception of the Northeast quadrant which includes Albuquerque and Santa Fe (major population centers). I would not be surprised if New Mexico bucks the traditional political wisdom though and votes Romney by a substantial margin.

Well then I guess Rove will say whatever the company that hires him wants him to say. Go listen to Hannity’s archives.

Schoen: On Election Eve, ‘Movement’ Towards Romney
NewsMax ^ | 11-5

Posted on Monday, November 05, 2012 3:45:11 PM by Arthurio

With less than 24 hours left before Election Day, “the movement has been in the direction of Mitt Romney” over President Barack Obama, Democratic pollster Doug Schoen tells Newsmax TV in an exclusive interview.

“What I see is a presidential race that is within half a percent, according to the Real Clear Politics averages,” Schoen, the former pollster for President Bill Clinton, tells Newsmax. “But the important point that most commentators haven’t noted is that the last two days, maybe even the last day, the movement has been in the direction of Mitt Romney.

Was 2008 really that hard to call?

Around here, you were chewed out if you showed any negativity -— reality, with 20-20 hindsight now— about McCain not going to pull it out. Freepers were so sure McCain would defy all the polls. No way would Obama actually win.

Which has me worried now. Freeper predictions for a Romney landslide come only from what they wish, not anything objective.

I have no clue after careful study of the polls and maps.

Of the Swing States, Romney can win if he takes Ohio, Florida, NH and VA along with the other states he already has wrapped up.

That would give him 270 EV’s and the Republican Senate would cast the tie-breaking vote.

I would love to see the look on Obama’s face as well as that on every face at MSDNC if that scenario were to occur.

Romney can also win without Ohio, but it gets a bit more tricky as he needs to win PA and some other Dem leaner swing states that are close.

I think Romney is further ahead than the polls indicate as they historically poll about +3 for the Dems.

But will it be enough to overcome Dem chicanery and shenanigans?

Will do...
But you realize that after mentioning his prediction on Hannity, then going soft on SP, he looks like a waffling moron who shouldn’t be listened to...
I swear, I have been hanging tough thanks to you guys on FR but after listening to Fox tonight, I was ready to slit my wrists....
They ALL need to have their a**es handed to them on Wed if it goes our way.

Rove was the architect of the 2006 loss and also his failures directly led to obama. He knows elections but he is a political whore and he proved it tonight. There were two Roves tonight... one that appeared with Barone on Hannity and was positive in his outlook and one that was ordered by Roger Ailes to keep the horse race meme going. I have no love for Rove.

Totally agree but...
He said something after the 2008 election that I think still rings true and Rush touched on it today..
In 2008, Obutthead do NOT get a huge vote as far as numbers were concerned. It was more like McLame LOST more than BO won...many indies just didn’t vote (because many indies are conservatives and evangelicals, not limp wristed soft libs)....
I always thought this was a good analysis....

To: workerbee; All

this should make everyone feel better about Florida being a toss-up on the Rove map...the linked article at the thread goes into more detail but the bottom line is obama is not nearly getting the huge headstart he got from early voting in 2008 or the on he needs in 2012....
