In the first place, what is “a professor in Medieval English” doing opining about Joseph Stalin???
I am sure he was on the debate roster NOT for his expterise in history, of which he is not credentialed, but for representation of his political bias, and for no other reason; but then again a good many “professsors” in “the humanities” ONLY have their jobs BECAUSE OF how well they represent a Leftist view.
The Black Book of Communism was written by French intellectuals who went into the Soviet Union and gathered communist party/government documents of Stalin’s murders. The book they wrote documents what they found. The commies kept maticulous historical records of their mass murders.
These researchers got in and gathered information fast after the Soviet Union fell before the governments had the chance to close access down. They were brave. Liberals have ignored this book.
