There was no bigger Springsteen fan than me at age 17. I waited in line for hours in below freezing weather to see him for the first time. Saw him 3 times since then.

At the last concert I attended in 2002 he went into a 15 minute rant about how the Bush administration was endangering our personal liberties and freedoms. He didn’t provide any evidence or proof of this, even though he had written the whole speech down and was reading it from 3x5 cards. What a putz.

After the rant, he said “but it doesn’t matter what party you are, everyone is welcome here.” I paid almost $100 for my ticket so I could hear some great music and was instead subjected to 15 minutes worth of insults and attacks. I certainly did not feel “welcome”.

Springsteen is a hypocrite who crawls out from his gigantic estate among the 1% in New Jersey horse country in order to try to appear relevant whenever there is an event like this telethon. It almost made me vomit when he campaigned for the “everymen” John Kerry and John Edwards - themselves also big millionaire hypocrites, two of the richest people in Congress at the time going around trying to spread everyone else’s wealth around.

I would be surprised if one of the telethon celebrities doesn’t put a plug in for their messiah Obama on the TV show tonight, but I hope Springsteen and the others raise a lot of money for this good cause and not get into politics.

As for me, I am still waiting for the hypocrite phony Springsteen to give me my $100 back.

Springsteen jumped the shark back in the 80’s. After “Born in the USA” success, his head got big. He thought he was Woodie Guthrie, Peter Seger, Phil Ochs and Pete, Paul and Mary rolled up in one person. He has stunk big time since then. Last 25 years spent feeding his own ego. I got his 1st 6 albums, I really liked those disks.
