The U.S. unemployment rate probably rose in October as employers stepped up hiring only slightly, underscoring President Barack Obama's vulnerability in next week's presidential election.
Employers likely added 125,000 jobs to their payrolls last month, according to a Reuters survey of economists. That would be up from 114,000 in September, but would fall short of what is needed to quickly cut the jobless rate.

The Fat Lady has sung.
The economics report today offers no political relief for Obama.
Its over.
“Offering Obama No Relief”...or the the jobless. Reuters never fails, even in their headlines, to get to what THEY think is important.
Obama administration spokesman, “it’s important not to place too much emphasis on one months data taken in isolation”. (Repeated each month for the last eighteen months consecutively.)
Think this is a setup. No way the Chicago crew will allow a report to be released that isn’t fudged to show progress at this late juncture.
They will readjust prior periods to show gains.
Not sure it will matter though.
Prediction: the rate goes down “unexpectedly”
The numbers will be rigged, the rate will come down. The lamestream media will parrot and crow about it for the next 4 days....just sayin.
Like Charles Paine said this morning on Fox after last month BS who knows what they willl do
It’s not over until the Fat Lady keeps her cotton picken hands off the electronic voting machines.
According to Steve Liesman, ObamaBot at CNBC, this morning’s data will include some of the “small increase in planned job layoffs” by companies in the next few months. On Fox Business this week, they said that the planned layoff number rose 41%. Would anyone but Liesman think that’s a “small number”?

This left wing Brit front meant to say “ giving us no opportunity to
Scream and shout for our Dear Leader”
The most ridiculed word for a coupla years now has been “unexpected”.
That means conservatives should go along and “expect” worse jobs numbers because we suddenly stopped believing in “unexpected”?
I trust those people to set everyone up with expectations of gloom and then suddenly come in with smiley faces, beaming the good news that unemployment has improved bigtime.
The headline will be “Jobs Numbers UNEXPECTEDLY Improve Obama’s Advancing Economy!”
I do not trust the media. Better skeptical than surprised.
IOW, I’ll believe it when I see it.
The whole Delay notice almost seem like a huge PR set up do everyone pays attention to this figure on Friday !!
I would not be surprised by a cooked up drop to 7.6 !
Axelrod is famous for this type AstroTurf
They did this with the September numbers too.. “it’s real bad, the rate should tick up”.. then, even though the numbers were real bad, the rate ticked down and the media ignored the fact the numbers were cooked. If there is anyone that trusts the numbers coming from the office of Obama supporters run by political appointees, please stand on your head.
I do not trust the media. Better skeptical than surprised.
Neither do I...just mention Benghazi and they will say it was some second rate actor...
Setting us up for “unexpectedly” fabulous numbers.
Total BS, they are lowering expectations in order to sell the “miraculous” news that is coming out soon...
Come on. That report won’t be released until 10:00pm tonight so it becomes part of the weekend dump.
If it is released earlier, be prepared for something big to trump it.
