SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NEW JERSEY (WAFF) - The hurricane-ravaged east coast has been receiving north Alabama help, but crews from Huntsville Utilities learned they'll be doing work in Long Island, New York instead of in New Jersey.
Crews from Huntsville, as well as Decatur Utilities and Joe Wheeler out of Trinity headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can't do any work there since they're not union employees.
The crews that are in Roanoke, Virginia say they are just watching and waiting even though they originally received a call asking for help from Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
The crews were told to stand down. In fact, Moore said the crew from Trinity is already headed back home.
Understandably, Moore said they're frustrated being told "thanks, but no thanks."
At least Huntsville has now found someone who wants their help.
Libs are about to panic (at least on Twitter) that the Sandy narrative is getting away from Obama.
Beyond stupid. Help shows up and they get turned away because they are non-union?! Fine. I wouldn’t stay around to help, I’d go back home and enjoy my own time.
Hell, the jerk left town and people are starving. This freak known as Obama can’t even handle Sandy. The roads are usable and he still can’t get enough food in 3 days after Sandy because he’s too busy campaigning.
Empty suit? Indeed.
Those two words pretty much wrap up the last four years.
Way to go, NJ.
Good, a full throttle panic attack will keep them curled up in a ball under their beds and away from the voting booths.
Are they accepting help from the National Guard??
They are non union..........
Just the sort of story the could divide the house, if there were a viable conservative political operation in these bought and paid for burroughs.
Just... imagine how much windfall the Sopranos will be skimming, in drywall alone!
surely those libs will be happy to know at least that The Traitor and his family ate very well tonite. I’m sure the leftovers were thrown out but...it wouldn’t be fair if some of the people got to eat while others went without. They should all starve together.
Thats criminal—the residents of Staten Island are screaming for help. This should go ‘viral’.
TOTAL INSANITY!!
Well, there went that.
These people make my parodies look tame
Gov. Christie seems to be Bronco Bama's best butt bud of late.
Let the Gov. tell the peeps that they are screwed by the government.
Will they turn away non-union cash donations too?
Scum Unions-— at least the Huntsville, AL. crew is going to Long Island where some of my family still needs their power restored. Thanks southern brothers—and sisters.
That’s crazy. Imagine if a lifeguard was rebuffed by a drowning man because he was not unionized. Fine, let the idiot drown.
Who is going to enforce it?
Well, so much for the Obama/Crispie Creme red tap cutting photo-op. Guess they forgot that bit of red tape. And this is even more insane because the Alabama Power Company employees are union. These turned away crews are from some of the smaller utilities and coops.
You just can’t make this nonsense up.
