(CNSNews.com) - The birth rate in the United States hit an all-time low in 2011, according to a report released this month by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“The 2011 preliminary number of U.S. births was 3,953,593, 1 percent less (or 45,793 fewer) births than in 2010; the general fertility rate (63.3 per 1,000 women age 15-44 years) declined to the lowest rate ever reported for the United States,” said the report.

You miss the point; our current welfare setup, when calculating all the benefits, makes having babies quite affordable for unwed mothers. In fact, the more children they have the more revenue generated. It’s shameful.

I’ve see pictures recently of neonatal ward in Dallas, sent to me by my son’s girlfriend, a nurse holding twin girls, and in the background dozens of mothers.. It appeared all of them were of color, Black or Hispanic, or maybe a few Mideasterns..

Remember, these are only infants that are suffering some birth problems, many quite serious.. Our Friend, the nurse is in a supervisory position.. I asked how many of the mothers are on some sort of Fed aid, she laughed, and said she seldom sees any that are not..

We are talking about tens of thousands of seriously ill newborns, with extraordinarily expensive medical costs, some into the 6 figures.. When I asked if she could discern if they are married, or if a father was identified? Her answer was hardly any of the Black even identify a man, and a few list several possible candidates with humorous comments..

I don’t care what anyone takes my posting this as racist in any way, I report you can take away any opinion you wish..
Aside from the moral and sociological implications, or the long term empirical probabilities, this is unsustainable..

Our cultural implications is far more serious, and tragedy does not nearly describe the situation.. Biblical, in it’s proportion, a better description..

It’s weird. Gay people want to marry, but heteros don’t.

There is a lot of truth in that. We (WIFE & me) were shopping for a house recently and the realtor was sort of astonished that we were “actually married.” She said most of her clients are not married and they are all ages.

There are a lot of people buying homes together that are not married. Just sayin’.

Give credit to the Supreme Court decisions 1968 thru the 1970's which struck down laws that treated legitimate vs illegitimate children differently, with respect to mandatory parental support and other aspects.

If a woman was not eligible for child support nor government assistance for an illegitimate child, she would have a greater incentive to get married.

???

Obviously, like you, I have no viable suggestion for the current problem. I just thought that you would.

How about the kids that are already here?

How would you actually put you suggestion into action?

What do you suggest be done?

What will you suggest when government is forced to make large cuts in expenditures?

Will you cut defense and education in order to continue the trillion dollars in annual welfare expenditures?

That would work for me. How would you get enough support for that to actually happen?

Oh, I do have some suggestions:

1. NO applicaiton for any welfare program is even accepted until the biological father presents himself along with the mother, or at a minimum identified and as much information as possible collected on him.

2. No additional welfare for additional out-of-wedlock children.

3. Mandatory inclusion in workfare programs.

There are many disincentives that can be included, but the libs will fight them all.

Either way, what would you do to stop them, besides what about the ones that are here now? That is the current reality. What do you suggest be done?

Eliminate welfare. Period. Provide a strong disincentive against having children you cannot support.

Lol, you are an apologist for irresponsible behavior and failed liberal solutions. There are many disincentives that can be incorporated into welfare programs, but the liberals and other apologists will fight them all, and they have in the past.

But I agree, you clearly have no ideas.

People need to start prodding, shaming, whatever, the MEN into the goal of Fatherhood and Head of a Family. Men need to decide that they will only be with women who are serious about having a mature, responsible man in their life, for the rest of their life.

It’s going to have to get to where a man who is reckless about his offspring is ashamed in the presence of a man who is a faithful father.

For the lost manboys in the jails, I think Fatherhood 101 could be a standard part of jail terms.

The low birth rate overall is a much more serious problem for the country than welfare payments to single mothers. Affluent people delaying or abandoning having children is the bigger problem. If they'd rather have their money redistributed to help poorer people have children, then that's better than no one in the country having children at all. The indigenous population not having children means the slow extinction of the culture, the economy and the country.

Do you think these out-of-wedlock births are planned or accidental? A percentage breakdown?

What financial incentive from the government does a man have to abandon his kids? He's not getting any welfare payments for that. And the absence of the father is the main reason the mother needs the welfare. Whether it's a government-caused problem or not is debatable. I think it's much more of a culture-oriented problem. And conservatives need to figure out some real solutions, which probably will have little or nothing to do with elections, politicians and government.

I agree, those are great suggestions, but what about realistic solutions, ones that would have a chance of actually being enforced, regardless of the administration?

Do you really think Mitt would even suggest something like that?

What candidate, of any party, would not provide welfare for out-of-wedlock children...at least one that had any chance of being elected?

Who do you think would run on a platform like that? Do you really think they would even get through the primaries?

Nature has a way of exposing human folly. Might take awhile, but it always happens eventually.

When we're all broke, and there's no more money to take from us, what do you think those poor souls will do then?

If they suffer from the consequences of their own actions, like humans have done for the vast majority of human existence, will it still be our fault?

Artificial birth control, condoms, the pill, etc. are lies brought to us by the Father of Lies. Embrace life and the marital act the way Jesus wants us to. A contracepted marital act is sinful. It leads to low birth rates and the decline of society.

I think it is just as big of a societal problem that the middle class are refusing to have children than it is that the poor are having children and are on welfare. There are even Freepers who reject what I am saying. Hopefully they will understand someday.
