Even before the storm hit America's East Coast, President Barack Obama wanted to show that he's ready, that he can lead the country through this crisis. It was exactly eight days before the presidential election on Nov. 6.
Obama is doing what Americans expect from a president when a massive storm like Sandy comes along: He is demonstratively setting politics aside and acting as the top catastrophe prevention official. When a reporter then asked him, "What about the impact on the election, sir?", the president answered soberly, unselfishly and energetically. "The election will take care of itself next week," he said. "Right now, our number-one priority is to make sure that we are saving lives ."
His handling of the storm could determine the outcome of the election. "The hurricane will pose a huge test for Obama in the next few days, one that will make the debate in Denver look like child's play," writes Julian Zelizer, professor of history and public affairs at Princeton University, for US broadcaster CNN. Obama lost to Republican candidate Mitt Romney in Denver, giving his rival an unexpected boost in the campaign.

“His handling of the storm could determine the outcome of the election.”
BULLSH*T.
Fixed it.
Sounds like Obama's still running as the challenger just like he's done from the beginning of this campaign of his.
That wasn't his Benghazi policy.
What a “gutsy call” for Obama to come back early from his celebrity appearances in Florida.
This is pure BS.
Obama’s moment was here where he let heroes die, in my opinion.

God Bless Our Troops by giving them a new CIC on Nov. 6!!
The ancient chinese believed a major change in society or Gov’t was always preceded by some calamity - they called it “the mandate of heaven.”
A crisis like a hurricane is not a valid test of presidential leadership. For that matter, “getting Osama” isn’t either.
Regarding the former, any good mid level manager could and would do the same. Regarding the later, Your next door neighbor or drunk brother in law could and would have made that call.
Obama who gave us DeathCare, the next Holocaust!
The first time in 4 years the POS ever did something right and it is merely a political move.
This gags me.
Since we are talking hurricane politics, consider that the worst hit thus far are all blue states: NJ, NY, DE, MD, CT.
Electoral effect on Romney: Near zero.
Two swing states (VA, PA) have been affected, at least residually, in their blue areas (northern VA, greater Philly). This could affect turnout and certainly has affected early voting.
Electoral effect on Obama: potentially decisive in a bad way.
People are dead, NYC is flooded, subways are down, buildings burned, trees have fallen and there are rumors of looting.
Obama has failed the people in the hurricane zone.
You’re correct; sorry about that. Was in a rush to get it posted because the site was slowing down on my end and wasn’t sure when it’d come back up. In retrospect, I hope that the source (Bertelsmann media, partner with NY Times) would have been a sufficient clue, but der Spiegel isn’t quoted on here too often . . .
My, my isn't is a crying shame that wasn't BHO's priority in Bengazhi?
No wonder this storm story is all over the media to the point of nausia. It's a cover for Bengazhi and what really went down. Give it enough time and divert the attention and the other story will fade into the mist of conspiracy.
