Different from the Gen. Ham situation.

The USS Stinson operates in 5th Fleet and was no where near Libya, which is in North Africa on the Mediterranean where the 6th Fleet operates.

The Adm. was probably removed from duty for some other reason, such as accusations of improper sexual conduct or making some comments about the gays that are now out of the closet.

Thanks for the additional info.

According to maggief’s post (#40) which was the next one after yours, Carrier Strike Group Three, the Stennis strike group was deployed back to the mid-east.

Not enough info available yet to determine if it was within range of Benghazi during that time-frame of 9/11/12.

If not, then you would be correct that this is probably not related to Benghazi. This will all come out eventually.
