But to go to sleep while his ambassador was missing, is not forgivable.

Their strategy became to snow the (willing) press with misinformation and cover-up. They have somewhat succeeded. Benghazi gets minimal coverage on ABCNBCCBS evening news. They decided cover-up was a lot safer than risking a blowup from a rescue attempt that turned out bad. So let the four Americans die. Don't allow our (eager and ready forces according to you) a chance at rescue. Don't risk a repeat of Jimmy Carter's ill-fated Iranian rescue which Carter believes cost him the election. Play it safe, abandon the four to die, the re-election of Barack Obama cannot be put at risk.

Maybe Valerie Jarrett had gone to bed, or had told him she was not to be disturbed, and Obama couldn’t take action without getting her permission. The first two or three chances he had to take out Osama were aborted because she would not give her OK.
