Saying "blank" instead of "black" was inadvertent. I have recently lived with a lot of people who are down and out, black and white, and there is a lot of substance to most all of those people.
Their politics are usually ignorant, but they have a lot of talent, grit, and concern for God and others. Example: I have a wino friend who prays multiple times everyday even when he's drunk. He pays more attention to God than I do.
